This is the second time I’ve listened to Poetry Please on BBC Radio 4, and I’m hooked. I especially enjoyed this one because it was on parenting. Definitely worth a listen for different poets’ insights on their children or parenthood. Two of my favorite poets, Naomi Shihab Nye and Sharon Olds, featured, reminding me I’d like to return to their words. I also loved “What Are You?” by Matt Harvey and “Lullaby” by James Agee.
I first saw this Kiss Cam clip on a friend’s Facebook page, and it made me cry. I wish I could say it was just mothering hormones, but I’ve always been quick to cry when the topic is love crossing boundaries.
I wish something could save America. Although I’m not yet convinced that Pod Save America will, I did really enjoy their political chat and banter. It felt like they were sitting around my kitchen table debating topics that have been all over the news, Facebook, and Twitter. I happen to share their views, so it was easy listening. While I don’t think they will be changing anyone who disagrees with them’s mind, they did flesh out the issues for me. I listened to “Protest is the New Brunch” and especially enjoyed the interviews. I’ll be giving another one a go.
